Rotary Club of Jacksonville Appoints Cushman & Wakefield’s Traci Jenks as President

Jenks is the Third Woman to Serve as President in the Club’s 106-Year History

JACKSONVILLE, FL, July 9, 2018 – Cushman & Wakefield congratulates Senior Director Traci Jenks on being named President of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville for the 2018-19 term. With 216 members, the Rotary Club of Jacksonville is the oldest Rotary club in the state and the largest within its district, which encompasses 63 clubs in 12 counties throughout northeast and central Florida. Jenks is the third woman to lead the club since it was established in 1912.

Jenks, who specializes in office leasing and sales with global commercial real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield, has been involved with the Rotary for 10 years. She has served as a member of the club’s board for two years, and previously held the role of Fellowship Chair, which is primarily responsible for event coordination, for five years.

As President, she plans to focus on increasing membership and expanding fellowship by hosting more social and charitable events. One of her primary initiatives for the year will be to establish a signature fundraising event that will recur annually and become a trademark of the Rotary.

“It is a huge honor to serve as president of the oldest Rotary club in the state, especially as only the third woman in history to do so,” said Jenks. “I am excited and proud to build upon the momentum my predecessors have created to further diversify our membership and make Rotary a place for fellow business leaders to make meaningful connections, give back to the community, and have some fun.”

Jenks was inducted as President on June 21 at the historic Florida Theatre in downtown Jacksonville. Past-President David Boree presented her with the presidency in the traditional “passing of the gavel” ceremony.

Through its affiliated charity foundation, the Rotary Club of Jacksonville awards approximately $70,000 each year to local charities and worthy not-for-profit projects. The northeast/central Florida Rotary district, known as Florida’s Crown District, is regularly one of the top-giving clubs in world. In 2017, it ranked No. 1 for foundation giving.
